Hutsul called on supporters to stop rallies at the pre-trial detention center in Chisinau

The head of Gagauzia, Evgenia Gutsul, appealed to her supporters to stop daily rallies in her support outside the pre-trial detention center in Chisinau. Her statement was submitted through her lawyers on October 5.

She also thanked everyone who comes and expresses their support, stressing that their safety is most important to her.

"I ask you to think about yourself and your families. I don't want the police to chase you, to illegally rewrite your data and issue far—fetched fines," she is quoted as saying on the Telegram channel of the head of the autonomy.

On August 5, Hutsul was sentenced to seven years in prison in the case of allegedly financing the Shor party. At the same time, she reported on the great support provided to her. Residents of Gagauzia gathered outside the courthouse, where her family members were not allowed to enter at the time of sentencing. On August 16, thousands of people came to Chisinau to participate in a peaceful protest against the illegal detention of Hutsuls.
