An earthquake of magnitude 6 occurred off the coast of the Japanese island of Honshu. The relevant information was published on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center on October 4.

It is specified that the epicenter was located 78 km northeast of the city of Iwaki, where about 357 thousand people live. The earthquake was centered at a depth of 47 km.

There was no information about casualties or damage, and no tsunami threat was announced.

Earlier, on September 25, an earthquake of magnitude 5.8 occurred in Venezuela. The epicenter was located 19 km northeast of the city of Mene Grande. The seismic event was located at a depth of 10 km.
