On October 4, US President Donald Trump said he would not tolerate delays on the part of the Hamas movement in releasing the hostages.

"Hamas must act quickly [in freeing the hostages], otherwise all bets will be off. I will not tolerate the delay that many believe will occur, or any outcome in which Gaza poses a threat again," he wrote on his page on the Truth Social network.

Trump expressed gratitude to Israel for temporarily stopping the bombing in order to give a chance to complete the release of the hostages and reach a peace agreement. The American leader also called on the parties to resolve the conflict quickly.

"Let's do this quickly. Everyone will be treated fairly!" concluded the US president.

Trump's full-fledged plan to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip was unveiled on September 29. It consists of 20 items. In general terms, the plan is to withdraw Israeli troops from the strip and suspend the military operation in return for the release of the hostages being held, the restoration of infrastructure and the removal of Hamas and other groups from power in the region.

On October 3, Trump announced that a gas agreement should be reached by the evening of October 5 at 18:00 Washington time (October 6, 1:00 Moscow time). In his statement, Trump also appealed to Palestinian civilians to evacuate to safer areas of Gaza.

On the same day, the Hamas movement confirmed its agreement to transfer control of the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Committee. The movement also agrees to release all Israeli hostages. In this regard, the Palestinian movement intends to proceed to indirect negotiations with Israel on the exchange of hostages. In addition, the Palestinian group Islamic Jihad (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) supported Hamas' response to the US plan to end the war in Gaza.

The Israeli authorities, in turn, ordered the suspension of military operations in Gaza. It was noted that activity in the Gaza Strip would be reduced "to a minimum."
