Orban accused the European Union of intending to start a war over Ukraine
On October 2, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban accused Brussels of wanting to start a war over Ukraine.
"Copenhagen, day two. The situation is serious. There are openly pro-war proposals on the table. <...> All these proposals clearly show that the Brussels people want to start a war," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Orban clarified that among the proposals at the Copenhagen summit were the transfer of European Union (EU) funds to support Ukraine, accelerate its integration into the union through legal manipulation, and finance arms supplies.
According to the Hungarian leader, his country will resolutely adhere to its position. Orban stressed that in the coming months it will be important to ensure the support of the international community, which seeks peace.
The day before, Orban warned that World War III could start at any moment if one of the major powers "makes a mistake." According to the Prime Minister, the current "conflict situation is so tense" that a mistake by one of the more serious players than Hungary could lead to "the outbreak of a world war." Orban added that this is where "the problem lies."
