Belgium continues to refuse to expropriate Russian assets under its jurisdiction, demanding full legal guarantees from the leaders of all EU countries regarding the division of the kingdom's financial risks. This was announced on October 2 by Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever upon arrival at the summit of the European Political Community.

"I told them that the signatures of the leaders of all EU countries are needed under the obligation to share all financial risks," TASS quoted him as saying.

He also confirmed that Belgium is against the appropriation of assets located on the Euroclear site in Belgium, which "generate income and taxes."
