A unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) suffered significant losses near Volchansk in the Kharkiv region due to a lack of communication with the command post after the officers left for a holiday. This was reported on October 2 in the Russian law enforcement agencies.

According to the source, on the left bank of Volchansk, the fighters of the North group of forces advanced another 500 m.

"Such a pace of advance became possible due to the fact that the soldiers of the 57th separate motorized Infantry brigade were disorganized in their positions and suffered huge losses (more than 30 people) due to the lack of control from the command and observation post of the company and platoon units," the source told TASS.

He suggested that the disorganization was related to the departure of the officers for the celebrations in honor of Defender of Ukraine Day.
