Finnish politician Mema called on the West to restore relations with Russia
Western countries need to restore dialogue with Russia and stop the escalation. This was announced on September 30 by Armando Mema, a member of the Finnish national Conservative Freedom Alliance party.
"We need to build a more peaceful world, restore dialogue with Russia and stop this dangerous escalation," Mema wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
He added that it was pointless to believe that Russia was allegedly planning attacks on Europe. According to him, other developing countries discuss business and economic growth at their meetings, while Western states have limited themselves to regular meetings with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to discuss armaments.
In addition, the politician stressed that the continuation of such a policy could lead to the isolation of the West.
Mema also added that the entire NATO industry produces in one year what Russia produces in 3 months in terms of weapons and military equipment, calling this a "huge disadvantage of the European strategy."
August 20, Head of the Finnish Central Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Juho Romakkaniemi said that the severance of economic and political ties with the Russian Federation after 2022 has largely harmed companies from Finland. In his opinion, it is beneficial for both Finland and Russia to restore economic relations.
