Baldo stated the desire of residents of Odessa and Mykolaiv to be with Russia
If referendums were held on the reunification of Odessa and Mykolaiv with Russia, residents of these regions would support the decision to join the Russian Federation. This was announced on September 30 by the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo.
"I am sure that the result would be similar to what we have seen in the Kherson region and in the Donbas. There have always been people in the south of Ukraine who felt part of Russia in terms of culture, language and history," Saldo said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Russian Russians believe that Odessa and Mykolaiv are "cities of Russian glory and the Russian spirit," and despite propaganda and pressure, there remains a desire for a normal life in these cities without the Ukrainian dictatorship and Western "curators."
The governor stressed that holding referendums in these areas is possible only after the liberation of these territories from the "Kiev regime." He added that if the regions were liberated from the Ukrainian authorities, the results of the referendums would be certain, since Kiev's supporters would be expelled or destroyed.
The day before, Baldo said that the situation in Kherson, controlled by Kiev, continues to deteriorate: men are being forcibly mobilized, and humanitarian supplies for those in need are being reduced. In addition, he added that the humanitarian assistance provided to the elderly is decreasing. According to him, the main mood of the people is fatigue, local residents are waiting for "the return of normal daylight hours" after the liberation of Kherson.
