As a result of a major fire in Jakarta, Indonesia, more than 300 residential buildings burned down, and about 1.2 thousand people were left homeless. This was reported by the Jakarta Globe newspaper on September 29.

"On Sunday morning, a large fire broke out in a densely populated area of West Jakarta," the publication says.

The fire area was more than 10,000 square meters. m. According to firefighters, there were no fatalities as a result of the incident, but several people were hospitalized with burns.

According to the newspaper, extinguishing the fire was difficult due to the strong wind. Local authorities claim that the cause of the fire was a short circuit in one of the houses. The material damage is estimated at $2.1 million.

Earlier, on September 19, forest fires broke out in Turkey, in the Kajegiz and Milas districts of Mugla district and Aksu and Alanya in Antalya. It was clarified that in the Alanya region, fires spread to several districts, including Aliefendi, Ispatli, Kocaoglanli, Ishakli and Kargicak, where the fire came close to residential areas.
