Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed Alexander Gutsan for the post of Prosecutor General. This was announced on September 18 by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and state Building, Andrei Klishas, in his Telegram channel.

"The Federation Council has received a submission from the President of the Russian Federation for consultations on the appointment of Alexander Vladimirovich Gutsan to the post of Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation," he wrote.

According to Klishas, on September 23, the Federation Council committees will hold a preliminary discussion of Gutsan's candidacy at a joint meeting and prepare conclusions. It is noted that the Committee on Constitutional Legislation and state Building will propose consultations on the candidate at the 596th meeting of the Federation Council, which will be held on September 24.
