The opening of the first Executive MBA program in Russia (professional retraining program for entrepreneurs and managers) "Management and Economics in the Golf Industry", designed to train top managers in the golf business, took place at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. This was announced on the university's website on September 17.

"I am confident that the launch of the Financial University program will help increase the number of highly qualified specialists in this dynamic and competitive industry," said Alexander Zhukov, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma.

It is specified that the program is implemented by the Higher School of Entrepreneurship at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University. She is also supported by the Russian Golf Association. At the opening ceremony, Zhukov stressed that golf contributes to the development of a healthy lifestyle, strengthening the country's position in the international arena and developing social ties.

Stanislav Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University, added that the program is a strategic step in response to the demand for time.

"Russia is forming its own talent pool, and as the flagship of this process, we are creating not just business education, but a unique platform for training future leaders of the golf sector," he said.

The program includes lectures, master classes and internships at Russia's leading golf clubs such as Pestovo, Zavidovo and Moscow City Golf Club. The program's faculty includes top managers of Russian and foreign golf clubs, golf experts, and government officials. Over the course of seven months, students will be able to improve not only management and economics skills, but also develop their gaming abilities.

Denis Davletkaliev, Director of the Higher School of Entrepreneurship, said that the focus of the training will be on practical cases and internships at the best golf clubs, which will allow students to integrate their knowledge into real activities.

"This is Russia's first EMBA-level educational project that combines elements of sports management, hospitality, economics, and infrastructure planning for golf clubs. Today, the focus on local personnel is important," he concluded.

The winners of the 2025 Russian Golf Cup were Alisa Molokanova, a member of the Moscow Region national team, and Artyom Filatkin, a Muscovite. The tournament was held in St. Petersburg from September 8 to 12 on the course of the Peterhof Golf Club. The organizers noted the high level of training of the participants, the sporting spirit and the atmosphere of the championship.
