The State Duma proposed to create a list of essential goods
In Russia, they are discussing the creation of a list of essential goods, the margin for which will not exceed 10%. This was announced on September 17 by Vladimir Kashin, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Agrarian Issues, in an interview with the Parliamentary Newspaper.
"In the near future, we intend to submit to the State Duma a bill that will contain a list of five types of essential goods, the trade margin for which should not exceed 10%. These will be bakery products, dairy products, and cereals," Kashin said.
According to him, the project is currently at the stage of coordination with relevant departments. According to Kashin, the deputy's initiative will receive the support of the government and will help to "curb" the price increase.
Earlier, on September 8, a bill was submitted to the State Duma on the introduction of a "fair check", in which if the price at the checkout is higher than on the price tag, the goods are issued free of charge. It was noted that the introduction of the "fair check" principle would eliminate the problem of false price tags as soon as possible, protect citizens from overpayments when shopping and increase the level of transparency and responsibility in retail trade.
