- In Crimea, they explained the incident with a participant allegedly kicked out of a restaurant.
Oleg Krishtal, a deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, in a conversation with Izvestia on September 16, commented on the incident with a participant in a special military operation (SVO), who was allegedly kicked out of a restaurant with his wife.
Information that a member of the SVO was kicked out of the Letka restaurant in Kerch because of wearing a military uniform appeared on the Arguments of the Week Telegram channel. According to his version, the incident occurred during the celebration of the City Day in Kerch on September 13. It is noted that the restaurant allegedly refused service to a man who came in a military uniform. In addition, it was reported that the incident occurred due to a decree of the city administration, which forbade people in military uniforms to enter the establishments.
"He (the serviceman - Ed.) was not denied access to the institution, he was offered [to sit] in another hall, since he did not comply with the dress code," Kryshtal explained.
According to the deputy, the soldier was not wearing a military uniform — he was wearing a sports jacket and camouflage trousers, which did not comply with the rules of the restaurant. The man also did not show his military identification to the staff.
In addition, Kryshtal clarified that the restaurant staff, when explaining the denial of service, referred to the decision of the Letka administration, and not the city. The Kerch authorities, he stressed, do not regulate the dress code of local establishments.
However, the deputy noted that the restaurant should have informed the client about its dress code rules and requested confirmation of the military status from the man.
"I just know the situation in the city: it is possible that someone was not allowed into the institution because he was in a military uniform," said Krystal.
He added that the city authorities had spoken with all parties to the conflict.
Earlier in 2022, the volunteer was not allowed to enter the Saratov bar Harat's because of his military uniform. At the same time, photos were found online where the same manager poses in a bar in military camouflage. In turn, State Duma deputy Nikolai Pankov said that such an attitude towards Russian soldiers is unacceptable.
