- A petition has been created in Russia to deprive Pugacheva of the title of People's Artist.
The collection of signatures against singer Alla Pugacheva, who is accused of treason after her recent interview, has begun. The petition was sent on September 16 by Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federal Project on Security and Anti-Corruption.
In an interview, according to the authors of the petition, she justified terrorist acts and expressed support for the first president of the self-proclaimed Chechen Republic of Ichkeria (a terrorist organization banned in Russia). To Dzhokhar Dudaev.
"We are convinced that Pugacheva has lost the right to respect and the title of People's Artist of Russia. We consider it important that ordinary citizens express their position and support the petition," Borodin said in an address published on the Telegram channel.
The authors of the petition also suggest that the interview could have been prepared with the participation of British intelligence services in order to sow discord in Russian society.
"We will not allow Pugacheva to mock us and consider us disenfranchised," the organizers say.
They express the hope that Russian President Vladimir Putin will take appropriate measures against Pugacheva.
Earlier that day, lawyer Alexander Treshchev filed a lawsuit against Pugacheva to recover 1.5 billion rubles in compensation for moral damage. The reason for the appeal to the court was an interview in which the actress positively characterized Dudaev, and also criticized the actions of the Russian authorities. According to Treshchev, her words offended military veterans. If the claim is satisfied, the lawyer promised to send all funds to support them, and keep a symbolic ruble for himself.
Pugacheva, along with her husband Maxim Galkin (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation), left Russia after the country announced the start of a special operation to protect Donbass on February 24, 2022. On July 30, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation announced that it had found no grounds for recognizing singer Alla Pugacheva as a foreign agent.
