On September 15, the Basmanny District Court sentenced Pussy Riot members in absentia to 8 to 13 years in prison for spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces (RF Armed Forces).

"The court decided to find Maria Alyokhina, Diana Burkot, Olga Borisova, Alina Petrova and Taso Pletner guilty under Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination under the guise of reliable reports of knowingly false information containing data on the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation") and impose a sentence of imprisonment for each: Alyokhina — in the form of 13 years in a general regime colony, Pletner — 11 years in a general regime colony, Borisova, Burkot, Petrova — 8 years each in a general regime colony," said the judge, quoted by TASS.

The court also banned Alyokhina and Pletner from administering Internet sites for 5 years, and Borisova, Burkot and Petrova for 4 years. The defendants pleaded not guilty and were put on the international wanted list. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for them in absentia.
