- The head of the Central Election Commission of Russia reported on the absence of excesses in the last elections
A single voting day passed without any excesses that could affect the results. This was announced on September 15 by the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Russia, Ella Pamfilova.
"I would like to summarize the preliminary results of the last single day of voting, a three-day vote that ended yesterday in elections at all levels. And to our great pleasure, there were no excesses that could affect the voting results," Pamfilova said at a briefing at the commission's information center, as quoted by TASS.
The head of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation noted that the voter turnout was about 47%, which is 8% higher compared to the same voting period in 2022. Pamfilova also stressed that approximately 26 million voters took part in a single voting day.
Earlier that day, the current governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenko, from the United Russia party, took first place in the regional presidential election, gaining 84.21% of the vote based on the results of counting 100% of the protocols.
The Ministry of Digital Development also reported that more than 1.5 million voters were able to vote in the elections of governors and regional parliaments on the remote electronic voting platform — the final turnout was 90.54%.
