Italian motorcycle racer died of injuries after race

Italian motorcycle racer Gabriele Cottini died from injuries sustained in an accident on the highway, Sky Sport reported on September 15, citing the Italian Motorcycle Federation.

The accident occurred during the Dunlop Cup 600 race at the Cremona circuit. The 39-year-old athlete received emergency treatment on the spot and was taken to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

"The memory of Gabriel Cottini will live on in each of us," the federation said in a statement.

Earlier, on September 7, French 16-year-old cyclist Noah Sartis died of cardiac arrest during a race in Coursemont in northwestern France. According to one of the organizers of the event, Joel Bellanger, Sartis suffered a heart attack in the last kilometers of the race.
