The Consulate General of Spain in Moscow suspended the issuance of visas to Russians
The Consulate General of Spain in Moscow has suspended accepting applications for visas. This was announced on September 13 on the official website of the BLS Visa Application Center.
The statement says that the suspension of the acceptance of documents is carried out "for technical reasons" until further notice.
The estimated duration of the restrictions is not specified.
On September 12, the German television channel NTV reported that the German government is considering the possibility of introducing stricter rules for issuing Schengen visas to Russian citizens. In 2024, German consulates in Russia approved only 17,000 applications for short-term Schengen visas, which is 2,000 fewer than in 2023. For comparison: in 2019, Germany issued 326,000 visas to Russians.
