Kallas: Russia, China, North Korea and Belarus are changing the world order
The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, expressed deep concern about the changes in the world order that are taking place due to the actions of Russia, China, North Korea and Belarus. She stated this on September 13 in an interview with RND.
"I see how the world order is changing right now, and it deeply worries me. Look at the recent Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit: China, Russia, North Korea, Belarus. These states want to return to an order in which power and force determine who will be in charge," Kallas stressed.
She added that the EU can defend its interests "with sticks and carrots."
Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma's International Affairs Committee, said on September 4 that Callas was concerned about the outcome of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in China, as its results challenged the "rules-based world order."
According to the parliamentarian, the West fears an impending change in the world order, during which the norms of international law will no longer be replaced by "rules." Slutsky added that Russia is building such a system of international relations.
