Dmitry Parfenov, a four-time Russian champion with Spartak, became the head coach of the Torpedo Moscow football club. This was announced on September 13 in the club's Telegram channel.

Parfenov previously worked for Tekstilshchik, Tosno, Ural, Tula Arsenal, Rodina and Aktobe. With Tosno, the specialist won the 2017/18 Russian Cup, and with Ural he reached the final of the tournament in the 2018/19 season.

Torpedo currently occupies the 16th place in the First League standings. The team has six points in 10 matches.

The day before, after losing to Volga with a score of 2:3, Sergey Zhukov resigned from the position of acting head coach of the club. He held it after Oleg Kononov's resignation on August 15. The contract was terminated by agreement of the parties.

Later, on August 22, Torpedo announced the resignation of Ariklenes da Silva Ferreira (Ari) from the post of sports director of the team.
