Boris Vasilkovsky, the former coach of Nikolai Gulyaev, president of the Russian Skating Union and Olympic champion in 1988, has died at the age of 87. This was reported to TASS on September 12 in the press service of the union.

"Coach Vasilkovsky is gone," the agency's source said.

The causes of the coach's death are not reported.

Vasilkovsky's students also included Oleg Bozhyev, the bronze medalist of the 1984 Olympic Games and the 1984 world champion in the classical all-around. During his career, Vasilkovsky was a senior coach of the USSR national team, and also worked in Poland, China and Kazakhstan.
