- The Ukrainian detained in the case of explosives told about plans to import it into the Russian Federation
One of the detained citizens of Ukraine in the case of the importation of explosives into Georgia stated that he was carrying explosives to Russia. This was reported on September 12 by the Georgian State Security Service.
It was clarified that the defendants are accused of transporting 2.4 kg of rdx from Turkey.
"Despite the fact that the detainee indicated in his testimony that the explosive was eventually supposed to enter the Russian Federation and, according to him, it was planned to arrange a so—called "Web 2" there, only one final location appears in the investigation materials and other operational data at this stage - an apartment building in Tbilisi, in the Avlabari area," said Lasha Magradze, Deputy head of the Georgian State Security Service.
Magradze also noted that, among other versions, active work is underway to establish a possible connection between this incident, the October 4 elections and the plans of radical groups.
