"In 2025, 1,616 candidates participating in a special military operation were nominated for elections at all levels. This is a new galaxy of politicians and public figures, which, I am sure, will gain strength, because the country needs it," Pamfilova said.
She also added that two of these candidates are participating in the election of senior officials.
According to Pamfilova, 189 candidates from the SVR were nominated in the elections of deputies of legislative bodies of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. In turn, 161 participating candidates were nominated in the elections of deputies of representative bodies of municipalities of administrative centers in 24 of the 25 regions.
On a single voting day, 81 regions will hold elections at various levels, from local councils to heads of constituent entities. In the vast majority of regions, voting will take three days.
On the same day, Pamfilova said that 90 polling stations in Russia were named after participants in the special military operation (SVO) on the eve of the Unified Voting Day (EDG). According to Pamfilova, a new automated system "Elections" was also launched in the country, designed to automate electoral activities from planning the preparation of the event to processing the results.
