The deputy head of Gagauzia, Viktor Petrov, and several of his colleagues were detained after a protest outside the courthouse in the city of Balti. This was announced on September 10 by Marina Tauber, an opposition member of the Moldovan parliament, in her Telegram channel.

"Members of the executive committee of Gagauzia — Viktor Petrov, Ivan Kolioglo, Vyacheslav Dragoi, Sergey Ibrishim and Ivan Kretsu — have been detained," she wrote.

It is specified that the detainees were taken to the police inspectorate to give evidence. At the same time, the reasons for the detention were not specified, Tauber added.

On September 2, the leader of the Republican party "Heart of Moldova" and the former head of Gagauzia, Irina Vlah, reported that police officers had raided the party's activists. According to her, the purpose of these events is to intimidate and discredit the party. Vlah added that, despite the difficulties, the "Heart of Moldova" will continue to "fight the yellow regime until it is removed from power."

On September 5, the leader of the Victory bloc, Ilan Shor, said that he sees defeating the current President of Moldova, Maya Sandu, as the main goal in future parliamentary elections. According to him, fair early elections will need to be held after its "demolition."
