Reuters has learned about the EC's plan to introduce a new package of sanctions against Russia by September 12.

The European Commission (EC) will propose the 19th package of anti-Russian sanctions by September 12. This was reported on September 8 by the Reuters news agency, citing EU diplomats.

"The European Commission is expected to propose the 19th package of sanctions against Russia by Friday (September 12. — Ed.)," the article says.

It is specified that banks in two Central Asian countries, Russian regional banking organizations and other companies may be included in the list of restrictions.

Possible restrictions on Russia's trading partners will be a blow to the economy of Europe itself, experts believe.

Earlier, on September 4, a number of European countries supported the EU measures imposed this year against Russian and Moldovan citizens, as well as foreign journalists. Supporters of these measures include Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Moldova, Norway, Liechtenstein and Ukraine.
