The Investigative Committee of Russia has recognized 11 people as victims in the case of the terrorist attack, which killed the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection forces Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov. This was reported on September 8 by the RIA Novosti news agency with reference to the case file.
"As follows from the explanations of the investigator <...>, 11 citizens were recognized as victims and interrogated," the document, which was reviewed by the agency, says.
It is specified that the number of defendants in the criminal case has increased to five people.
Kirillov and his assistant died on the morning of December 17, 2024, as a result of the detonation of an explosive device planted in a scooter at the entrance of an apartment building in Moscow.
On January 16, a Moscow court detained three defendants in the criminal case of Kirillov's murder — Batukhan Tochiev, Akhmadjon Kurbonov and Ramazan Padiev (all listed as terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation). According to law enforcement agencies, the detainees, on the instructions of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), provided housing and personal transport for the perpetrators of the terrorist attack against Kirillov.
On August 17, the investigative authorities completed the preliminary investigation into the murder case.
