Judoka Catamardov became the winner of the European Junior Championship
Russian judoka Bislan Catamardov became the winner of the European Junior Under-21 Championship. The fight took place on September 6 in Bratislava.
In the final in the weight category over 100 kg, the 20-year-old athlete defeated Mortaza Sukhoi from Germany.
Due to the decision of the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation (IJF), Russian athletes can participate in competitions only as individual neutral athletes.
On July 27, it was reported that, according to the results of the Grand Slam tournament, Russian judoka won 10 medals. Thus, the athletes won a gold, two silver and seven bronze medals. Ksenia Galitskaya took first place in the weight category up to 57 kg, while Marina Vorobyeva in the category up to 48 kg and Artyom Zolotukhin in the category up to 100 kg became silver medalists.
