The Finnish President warned about the risk of the West losing to the SCO countries
On September 2, Finnish President Alexander Stubb expressed fears that the West could give way to the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) if it does not establish more effective cooperation with the Global South.
"What we have been seeing for a long time about the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is that it is an attempt to undermine the unity of the Global West...> If we do not conduct closer cooperation or decent foreign policy, especially with the Global South, countries like India, we will lose this game," Stubb said at a joint press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda in Helsinki, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
The Finnish President noted that he does not support the multipolarity approach, but advocates "multilateralism" in international politics.
