The Perovsk interdistrict prosecutor's office has approved an indictment against Yulia Taratuta, the presenter of the Dozhd TV channel (the TV channel and the journalist are recognized as foreign agents in the territory of the Russian Federation). This was reported on September 2 in the press service of the Moscow Prosecutor's office.

"She is charged under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Evading duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents")," the department's Telegram channel says.

It was established that the journalist was brought to administrative responsibility twice during the year for violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent, but, being outside the Russian Federation from January 2024 to January 2025, she again failed to provide the necessary information to the authorized body.

The Moscow prosecutor's office clarified that the case of Taratuta, who is wanted, has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.

The Russian Ministry of Justice added Taratuta to the register of foreign agents in 2022. On January 31, 2025, the Moscow Prosecutor's office demanded that a criminal case be opened against the journalist for violating the law on foreign agents. The case was opened on March 4. On August 20, it became known that the court had arrested Taratuta in absentia under Part 2 of Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
