The Kalashnikov Concern presented the first experimental batch of the small-sized 5.45 mm AM-17 assault rifle. This was announced on September 1 in the Telegram channel of the concern.

"The AM-17 was designed at the Kalashnikov Design and Technology Center on behalf of military personnel as a promising self-defense weapon for calculations of military equipment, as well as for arming soldiers of special forces of the army and law enforcement forces," the message says.

It is noted that high-strength polymer materials are used to manufacture the machine. The AM-17 also uses a folding telescopic stock, a two-way translator for firing modes, and Picatinny rails.

The concern stressed that the design of the machine gun was finalized taking into account the feedback from military personnel from the special military operation zone (SVO). It is specified that the AM-17 is ready for state testing and can use all types of 5.45 mm cartridges adopted by the Russian Army.

Earlier, on August 10, the Kalashnikov Concern presented the latest AK-15K and AK-15SK assault rifles. A 7.62 mm hand-held machine gun with a ribbon-powered RPL-7 and new samples of the all-season VKPO 3.2 field uniform set from the Novator uniform set were also presented.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
