On August 31, Russian President Vladimir Putin was greeted with a "Kalinka–Malinka" at the summit of the leaders of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Putin arrived at the Meijiang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Tianjin. The summit will open with a reception for the heads of delegations on behalf of the host of the summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping.
