A parachutist fell to his death in the Moscow region. This was announced on August 31 by the press service of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

According to the ministry, on the eve of August 30, a 46-year-old man, performing a parachute jump from an Mi-8 helicopter, suffered life-threatening injuries upon landing.

"An investigator from the Voronezh Investigative Department for Transport of the Western Interregional Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is conducting a pre—investigation check on the fatal injury of a parachutist athlete," the agency's Telegram channel says.

A set of verification measures aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident is currently being organized.

According to the Izvestia source, the incident occurred at the Aerograd flying club in the village of Korobcheevo.

Earlier, on April 26, a resident of Perm crashed in the Chegem gorge of the Caucasus Range in Kabardino-Balkaria during a paragliding flight. It is specified that he made a hard landing in the upper reaches of the gorge.
