Putin called Yessentuki the pearl of the North Caucasus

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated the residents of Yessentuki in the Stavropol Territory on the 200th anniversary of the city, calling it the "pearl of the North Caucasus." A congratulatory telegram was posted on the Kremlin's website on August 30.

"You are rightfully proud of your hometown, which has gone from a small Cossack village to a world—famous resort, a real pearl of the North Caucasus, and the significant achievements of many generations of countrymen who have made a huge contribution to the development of tourism and resort business in our country," the Russian leader emphasized in his congratulatory message.

Putin noted that Yessentuki is developing dynamically: facilities of sanatorium-resort and rehabilitation-rehabilitation complexes are being built and revived, projects in the field of ecology, tourism, sports and transport are being implemented. According to the president, Russia will continue to implement programs aimed at improving the well-being of residents of Yessentuki.

In addition, modern workplaces and comfortable public spaces will be created in the city. Special attention will be paid to providing young people with opportunities for self-realization, Putin concluded.
