- The leader of the Pobeda bloc, Shor, accused Sandu of betraying the interests of Moldova.
In Moldova, the leader of the opposition bloc "Victory" Ilan Shor on Wednesday, August 27, accused the President of the republic Maya Sandu of betraying the interests of the country.
"The independence we dreamed of — the independence of a strong, prosperous state respected by all its neighbors — has been betrayed by the current government," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Shor, Sandu and her ruling Action and Solidarity (PAS) party have handed Moldova over to "foreign bureaucrats from Brussels." He added that they had exchanged the republic for promises and loans and turned it "into a servant of the European Union's non-politicians."
Shor stressed that the regime of the current authorities is trying to erase "national identity, impose alien values and rewrite the history" of Moldova. The party leader noted that such actions are not a path to freedom, but a new form of slavery.
On June 4, Moldovan MP from the Social Party Bogdan Cirdea said that Sandu was not seeking to solve the republic's problems, as she intended to leave the republic after completing her mandate and take up a post within the European Union (EU).
The leader of the pro-European Liberal Democratic Party, Vladimir Filat, said on August 11 that the political regime of the President of Moldova and its ruling PAS party had plunged the republic into poverty. According to him, the cumulative inflation in the country was 76.8%, which is the highest level in the last 25 years. Filat also noted that the blow was most painful for pensioners and people with low incomes.
