Russian Ilyasov won gold in Greco-Roman wrestling at the Junior World Cup

Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Ali Ilyasov won a gold medal at the World Championship among athletes under 20 years old, held in Samokov, Bulgaria. The competition was held on August 24.

Ilyasov defeated Turkish wrestler Kemal Bakir in the final match of the weight category up to 130 kg. In the category up to 87 kg, Russian Abdurakhman Abdulkadyrov won the silver medal, losing in the final to Georgian Luka Kochalidze.

The bronze medals went to Russian athletes Zaur Beslekoev (up to 77 kg) and Igor Punchenko (63 kg), who also competed in the Greco-Roman style.

On August 11, Russian Konstantin Shakhtarin won gold at the XIII World Games in China and became the champion in Thai boxing in the weight up to 71 kg. Shakhtarin defeated Gianluca Franzosi from Italy in the final.
