Lavrov discussed security issues with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov held talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, and the ministers discussed international and regional security issues. This was reported on August 23 in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, the Foreign Ministers touched upon important issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda, including aspects of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation, as well as regional and international security issues.

The sides exchanged views on the results of the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, which took place on August 22 in Astrakhan, and highly appreciated the results of this meeting. Other topics of mutual interest were also touched upon.

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk said during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission of Russia and Azerbaijan in Astrakhan on August 22 that the share of settlements between Moscow and Baku on foreign trade contracts for the period from January to May of this year amounted to 79.8%. Overchuk added that the countries rely on national currencies in their mutual trade.
