FOM: 80% of Russians trust Putin
The results of a survey conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation (POM) from August 15 to 17 among 1.5 thousand Russians showed that the level of trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin is 80%, and 82% of respondents are confident that he performs his duties well.
"80% of Russians declared their trust in Vladimir Putin (plus 2 percentage points per week). Also, the majority of the population (82% — plus 3 percentage points) is confident that he is doing his job well as head of state," the social service said.
It is noted that 58% of respondents gave a positive assessment of the government's work (plus 5 percentage points), and 60% consider the work of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to be good (plus 2 percentage points).
At the same time, the level of support for the parties was: United Russia — 42% (minus 1 percentage point), the Communist Party — 7% (minus 1 percentage point), the Liberal Democratic Party — 9% (minus 2 percentage points), Just Russia — For Truth — 3% (minus 1 percentage point), "New people" — 4% (unchanged).
In January, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the Russian president enjoys enormous popular support. Then VTsIOM and FOM presented the results of surveys that demonstrated the level of trust in the Russian leader at 78.3 and 79%.
