The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has disqualified athletes Artem and Nadezhda Zubkov for violations of anti-doping rules. This was reported in the agency's press service.

"Both athletes (husband and wife) refused to take samples, which is a violation of paragraph 4.3 of the All-Russian Anti-Doping Rules (OAP)," a RUSADA representative said in an interview with TASS.

It is noted that they later admitted the violation. The agency explained that in this regard, the period of ineligibility was reduced based on paragraph 12.8.1 of the OAP. According to this paragraph, if an athlete admits a violation and refuses to be heard within 20 days of being charged, the suspension period is automatically reduced from four years to three.

As a result, the athletes were disqualified until February 2, 2028.

On August 17, the Cycling Federation of the Russian Federation announced the disqualification of Russian cycling champion Evgenia Tretyakova for doping. According to RUSADA, the athlete passed a doping test in April and the result was positive. She was disqualified until May 26, 2029.
