The practices of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI), which have shown good results in certain regions of the Russian Federation, should be expanded. Vladimir Putin said this on April 9 at a meeting with ASI CEO Svetlana Chupsheva. For example, the president noted the importance of providing high-quality medical care to ITS fighters near their homes: the agency plans to open special centers in each federal district.

What was discussed at the meeting

This year, ASI will focus on the development of support settlements and small towns. Solutions are expected in the fields of transport, housing and communal services, urban improvement, education and medicine. According to the head of the agency, Svetlana Chupsheva, Moscow has already proposed many initiatives. The solutions of the megacity turned out to be applicable to small towns, for example, in medicine — the capital proposed to introduce general purchases either together with individual municipalities or together with regions. "Novgorod has saved 500 million rubles for the budget of the Novgorod region on the purchase of medical equipment together with Moscow. These are serious funds that the regional government has allocated to other investment projects," she said.

The agency has already compiled a "large atlas of effective infrastructure and service solutions for populated areas with different populations." Other initiatives and projects include the involvement of architectural monuments and cultural heritage sites in economic turnover. In small towns, this will help to stimulate the development of tourism. Practices that have proven themselves well in some regions should be extended to other territories, the president pointed out. "It needs to be replicated," he said after hearing the report of the head of the agency.

The head of the ASI presented Vladimir Putin with the Russian-Belarusian industrial tourism guide "Two countries, a thousand factories." It includes 50 enterprises from both countries. They are divided into 15 thematic tracks covering various industries, from mechanical engineering and mining to the light and food industries.

Svetlana Chupsheva spoke about the agency's program in the field of providing medical care to ITS participants. Now all the resources and technologies available in military hospitals will be combined in the competence centers of military-civilian medicine. The project is being implemented together with the military hospital named after Burdenko. The main profile is surgery and military field surgery. According to her, the agency plans to open such centers in each federal district on the basis of existing clinics. The head of the ASI added that this will allow military personnel to receive high-quality medical care and rehabilitation near their homes. "It's very important, I totally agree. It is very important," the president concluded.
