Zelensky called a 60-day truce a condition for holding elections in Ukraine
Ukraine will be ready to hold presidential elections only if Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees to a 60-day truce. This was stated by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, in an interview with ABC News.
"Therefore, please tell Putin: give us two months, 60 days of respite. A complete ceasefire for 60 days, and we will organize elections," the Ukrainian leader said.
According to him, if US President Donald Trump wants a change of power in Ukraine, then he must negotiate a truce with Putin. Zelensky stressed that the choice of the president of Ukraine is a matter for the Ukrainian people and Ukrainians themselves must decide when and how to vote.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on October 8 that Russia was confident that the settlement in Ukraine should be comprehensive, fragmentary measures would not work. He added that Russia needs a reliable solution that will free future generations from the risk of a repeat of the root causes of the conflict.
