The scammers pose as employees of government agencies and ask them to install an update for the Gosuslugi portal or the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System (EMIAS). Anton Nemkin, a State Duma deputy, warned about this on October 7.

"The attackers pose as employees of government or medical institutions and offer to install an update for Gosuslug or EMIAS. In fact, a malicious file may be sent to the user, which, after installation, gives criminals the opportunity to gain access to the device's data and functions," he told RIA Novosti.

Nemkin recalled that government services do not require installing applications through calls and messages, and information about updates is available in the application itself, which should be downloaded from official sources. According to him, the new scam scheme is designed to build user confidence in familiar services and create a "sense of urgency."

On October 6, cybersecurity expert Semyon Tyutyuyev reported that fraudsters were offering Russians to receive a foreign inheritance in cryptocurrency, citing the impossibility of a bank transfer due to sanctions, after which they demanded to pay commissions and other expenses. It was clarified that scammers convince potential victims that cryptocurrency is the only way to receive the inheritance allegedly owed to them.
