The cost of tire replacement has stabilized in the fall of 2026
The cost of seasonal replacement of summer tires for winter tires in the fall of 2026 has generally stabilized after rising in the first half of the year and remained at the level of spring values. This was announced by Nikita Rodionov, technical director of the Fit Service car service network, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on October 1.
According to him, in the spring, the average price of the service increased by 10-15% compared to last year. In autumn, the additional growth was only a few percent and affected only certain regions.
The average cost of a comprehensive tire repair depends on the region and vehicle parameters. So, for passenger cars with wheels with a diameter of 14-16 inches, the price remains in the lower range: in Moscow, replacing four wheels with discs with a diameter of 15 inches will cost about 5 thousand rubles, in Novosibirsk — about 4 thousand rubles. For crossovers and SUVs, as well as vehicles with large wheels, low-profile tires and pressure sensors, the service will cost more.
As the expert noted, it is worth focusing not only on the price, but also on the quality of work, including balancing and correct installation of wheels, since this directly affects the safety of operation. You can reduce costs through loyalty programs and car service promotions.
The optimal time to switch to winter tires is considered to be the period when the average daily temperature is stable at +5...+7 degrees. At higher temperatures, summer tires retain their properties, but as the weather cools, they begin to lose elasticity and worsen traction.
Changing tires can be a reason for an additional check of the car before the winter season. In particular, it is recommended to assess the residual tread depth (for winter tires — at least 4 mm), the uniformity of wear and the general condition of the rubber, as well as check the pressure in the spare wheel and the serviceability of related systems.
On September 3, Cordiant Holding launched a system for detailed tire weight control during assembly at a production site in Omsk. The new technology involves repeated weighing of an unvulcanized tire after the addition of key elements, which makes it possible to detect deviations from the standards at the early stages of production.
