The international coalition led by the United States has handed over all military bases to the Iraqi authorities

The US-led international coalition has completed the transfer of its military bases and headquarters to the Iraqi armed forces. This was stated on September 26 by the head of the press service of the Iraqi security agencies, Saad Maan, on the air of the Al Jazeera TV channel.

"The international coalition has handed over all its bases and headquarters to the Iraqi authorities. There are no more combat or military forces of the international coalition in Iraq," the Iraqi platform 964media quoted Maan as saying.

It is specified that after September 30, there will also be no combat or training units of the coalition in the country. He noted that after the completion of the mission, Iraq's relations with the coalition member countries will switch to the format of bilateral cooperation.

The Iraqi authorities, as stated by Maan, are ready to independently ensure security after the withdrawal of the international coalition forces.

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zeidi announced on September 21 that Iraq plans to completely disarm armed groups in the country by June 2027. According to him, after the completion of the deadline, any formations that continue to operate as independent militias will be outlawed.
