Lukashenko says there is no potassium in Belarus for Western countries
Belarus has reoriented its potash exports to the East, which is why Minsk has no available volumes of fertilizers to supply to Western countries and the United States. This was stated by President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with Chairman of the State Customs Committee Vladimir Orlovsky on September 21.
"Even if we wanted to supply (potassium. — Ed.) somewhere else, Western markets, there are simply no such volumes — everything is contracted," the presidential press service quoted Lukashenko as saying.
According to the Belarusian leader, against the background of the ongoing economic attacks from the European Union (EU), the government of the republic has managed to rebuild logistics. Lukashenko cited recent talks with US President Donald Trump's special envoy John Cole in Minsk on September 15 after the easing of US sanctions and the removal of "Belaruskali" from the black list as evidence of a successful turn to the east.
In addition, the head of state noted the effective cooperation with Russia: thanks to the well-coordinated work of the customs authorities, the introduction of the Russian system of confirmation of waiting for goods (SPOT) did not create serious problems for Belarusian carriers.
"Of course, I am following the situation and am informed that you have managed to establish good, good relations with Russia in terms of introducing these measures and our carriers are not experiencing any serious problems. This is good," the Belarusian leader noted.
""On September 16, BelTA news agency reported on the readiness of the United States to lift sanctions against two Belarusian companies: "Lakokraska" and "Bellesbumprom". Cole said that the parties had agreed to lift sanctions against other Belarusian companies and to release additional prisoners after resolving the remaining issues between the countries.
