The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to thousands of violations by Ukraine of previous truces.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) violated previously announced truce regimes several thousand times. This was announced on August 28 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

"During the conflict, we have gained some experience of how the other side treats previously announced truces. Instead of observing the regime of silence, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on the contrary, methodically and cynically increased the number of attacks," Galuzin said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to the deputy minister, one of the examples was the Easter truce announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Galuzin, this year, according to the Russian side, the Ukrainian Armed Forces violated it 6558 times, which is 20% more than the indicator of a similar silence regime in 2025.

He also stated that during the ceasefire regime in honor of Victory Day this year, 30,383 violations were recorded by Kiev. According to Galuzin, this is 46% higher than last year, when 14,043 such cases were recorded.

On May 11, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that during the truce on the occasion of Victory Day, 23,802 cases of violations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine were recorded. It was noted that during the day, Ukrainian militants made 12 attempts to attack the positions of the Russian Armed Forces and carried out 767 attacks on positions from multiple rocket launchers, artillery pieces and mortars, as well as 6905 strikes using drones.

On April 12, the Russian Defense Ministry indicated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces violated the Easter truce by attacking Russian army positions three times at night from the Pokrovskoye area. In addition, the Ukrainian army has made four attempts to advance in the areas of Novaya Sich, Sumy region, and Kondratovka in the Donetsk People's Republic.
