- More than 32 thousand hectares of forests have been restored in the Trans-Baikal Territory
In the Trans-Baikal Territory, almost 33 thousand hectares of forest have been restored. The reforestation works are carried out within the framework of the national project "Ecological Well-being".
IA ChitaMedia, referring to the regional Ministry of Forests, writes that the ratio of the area of reforestation to the area of felled or dead forests exceeded 179% due to the joint work of tenants, forestry departments and Zabaikalleskhoz.
By the end of 2026, it is planned to restore more than 50 thousand hectares of forest plantations.
Earlier it was reported that mineralized strips created to contain the spread of forest fires will be put in order in the Trans-Baikal Territory. The work is carried out on the sites of the Zabaikalleskhoz. The events began within the framework of the national project "Environmental well-being". The workers use specialized machinery, including tractors with plows. This is necessary for clearing and updating fire lanes.
