Almost 0.5 million hectares of forests are burning in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, forest fires are raging on an area of almost 0.5 million hectares. There are 162 forest fires in the region.

During the day, the area and number of fires increased. According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, according to the Forest Fire Center, 146 forest fires were recorded in the region on the morning of August 25. Their total area was 439.5 thousand hectares. During the day it grew to 465.7 thousand hectares.

Fires were registered in the Yenisei, Boguchansky, Taimyr, Dolgano-Nenetsky, Evenki, Turukhansky and Kezhemsky districts.

Fires do not pose a threat to populated areas yet.

691 people and only one piece of equipment are fighting the fire. The local authorities claim to be in control of the situation.

Earlier, on August 26, it was reported that due to forest fires in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District), an emergency regime was in effect. So, a resident of Novy Urengoy said that the streets were covered with smog and a suffocating smell of burning.
