The body of a minor boy was found in a river on Sakhalin

The body of a 10-year-old boy was found in a river in the Sakhalin region. This was reported on August 14 in the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Sakhalin region.

"According to preliminary data, on August 13, 2026, the boy, left without adult supervision, took a mini tractor and went for a ride in a wooded area. Subsequently, the vehicle was found overturned in the Alat River. The child's body was found in the water next to the vehicle," a message on the Maks messenger said.

It is specified that a criminal case has been opened on this fact, provided for in Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Causing death by negligence"). Investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the child's death, the department said.

The latest case occurred in Krasnodar — a 14-year-old teenager drowned during rowing lessons.

On August 13, the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory reported that a teenager had drowned during rowing practice in the Kuban River. According to the Izvestia source, the teenager was allowed to swim during the class. He jumped into the water from a kayak, but after a while he drowned.
