A storm warning was announced in Primorsky Krai.

Weather conditions are expected to worsen in Primorye. The rains will hit the region next weekend. Gusty winds of up to 30 m/s and floods with rising water levels up to 2 m are not excluded.

A storm warning has been announced for the period from August 14 to 18, writes IA PrimaMedia with reference to the press service of Primhydromet. Up to 120 mm of precipitation may fall in the coming days. This corresponds to up to 80% of the monthly norm. The most difficult situation will be on August 17-18. The region will be under the influence of an active southern cyclone.

Forecasters are particularly concerned about the flood situation. On the rivers of the Ussuri basin, the Sea of Japan, and Lake Khanka, the water level can rise by 0.5 – 2 m. During heavy rains, rivers may overflow their banks, flooding low-lying areas, farmlands, farm buildings, and roads.

Strong waves are expected to splash and roll in the bays on the southern coast.

An atmospheric front began to invade Primorye from China on Thursday, August 13. Rain will start in the west of the region, and the zone will cover most of the region by evening.

Earlier, Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency, reported that the cool weather in Moscow would remain almost until the end of the week.
