Minsk calls Kiev's plans to open a criminal case against Lukashenko ridiculous

The intentions of the Kiev authorities to open a criminal case against the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, can only be called ridiculous, there will be no reaction to such a statement. This was announced on July 31 by Oleg Gaidukevich, Deputy Chairman of the Permanent Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Belarus.

"We will not react to this in any way. We know this information. But she's funny. Any criminal cases in Kiev are ridiculous," TASS quoted him as saying.

Gaidukevich noted that the Kiev authorities persistently shake the air, having already made countless attempts to initiate criminal proceedings in the International Court of Justice, but they all fail.

"It's all nonsense. None of this has any significance in the political reality. And it looks especially funny against the background of the fact that there will soon be no one to fight, there is already no one to mobilize in Ukraine," the parliamentarian was indignant.

The Ukrinform news agency reported on July 31 that the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had sent an appeal to the country's Prosecutor General's office with a request to initiate criminal proceedings against Belarusian leader Lukashenko. The application goes through a review stage. Department spokeswoman Mariana Gayovskaya-Kovbasyuk added that no criminal proceedings had been initiated.

On June 25, Lukashenko spoke about a meeting with representatives of the Ukrainian leader, at which he warned the Ukrainian delegation that Kiev's attempt to involve Minsk in the conflict would instantly change its quality. At the same time, he stressed that Belarus does not want to fight with Ukrainians, who, in turn, do not want to fight with Belarusians.
